Getting help now

How fast should emergency water damage restoration start?

As soon as it is safe to begin. Mold can start growing on wet materials within 24 to 48 hours, so quick extraction and drying protect your home.

Is water damage really an emergency?

Usually, yes. Water that you can see is only part of the problem, because moisture keeps moving into drywall, insulation and flooring. Treat it as urgent if water is still flowing, covers more than a small area, came from a toilet, sewer or flood, or is near electrical outlets.

What should I do before the crew arrives?

Stop the water source if you can, switch off power to the wet area only if you can reach the breaker without standing in water, photograph everything, move valuables to a dry room and call a restoration company. Do not use a household vacuum on water.

Is your emergency line really open 24/7?

Yes. The emergency line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights and holidays.

What information should I have ready when I call?

The address, where the water came from, whether it is still running, whether it looks clean or contaminated, and your insurance company if you already know it.

Should I call a plumber or a restoration company first?

Call both. The plumber fixes the source while the restoration crew extracts water and starts drying. If water is actively flooding, call restoration straight away.

The restoration process

How long does water damage restoration take?

Drying usually takes about three to five days, with cleanup and repairs after that. Large losses, hardwood and contaminated water take longer, and humid Florida weather can stretch the schedule.

What is structural drying?

Structural drying uses air movers and dehumidifiers to pull moisture out of walls, floors and framing after standing water is removed. Technicians check moisture readings until materials reach their target.

Will you tear out my carpet and drywall?

Only what cannot be dried in time. Soaked carpet padding and drywall exposed to contaminated water are the usual examples. We explain what has to come out and why before we remove it.

Can I open windows and run fans myself?

Often not in Florida, because outdoor air is humid much of the year. Closed rooms with the air conditioning running and a commercial dehumidifier usually dry better.

Do you handle sewage and storm water?

Contaminated water needs careful handling. Stay out of the affected area, avoid contact, and call us so the crew can remove it and protect the rest of the home.

Cost and insurance

How much does water damage restoration cost?

It depends on how much area is wet, the type of water, how long it sat, the materials involved and how many days of drying equipment are needed. We give you a written scope so you can see what you are approving.

Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?

Most policies cover sudden and accidental water damage, such as a burst pipe. Flood from storms or rising water usually needs a separate flood policy, and long-term seepage is often excluded. Check your policy or ask your agent.

Will you work with my insurance company?

We document the loss with photos, moisture readings and equipment records that you can give to your adjuster. You remain in charge of your claim.

Why can a restoration bill differ from what insurance pays?

Common reasons are scope disagreements, more drying days than the adjuster assumed, and policy limits. Daily moisture logs and an itemized invoice show which applies.

How long do I have to report a claim in Florida?

Florida law sets notice deadlines for claims, and they can depend on your policy and date of loss. Report quickly and confirm your exact deadline with your insurer.

What paperwork do you give me?

Photos of the damage, moisture readings, equipment records and a written summary of the work, all of which you can share with your insurer.

Mold and what comes after

Will mold grow after water damage?

It can if materials stay wet for more than a day or two. Fast extraction and drying are the best prevention.

Can I dry my home myself?

A small, clean spill caught within hours can often be handled with towels, fans and a dehumidifier. Anything larger, contaminated or hidden inside walls and floors needs professional equipment and moisture measurement.

How do I know my home is actually dry?

Moisture meters show whether wood, drywall and other materials have returned to normal levels. We take readings during the job so drying ends only when materials are actually dry.
